The Georgia Restaurant Association serves as the unified voice of Georgia restaurants in the domains of advocacy, education and awareness, and today comprises of over 17,000 foodservice establishments in the state. Operating Partner Stuart Fierman has been a longtime board member and leader within the GRA, and Fifth Group has won two GRA Awards, received 2007 Restaurateur Award, and in 2015 received its prestigious Distinguished Service Award for our focus on people, community and the environment as our company continues to grow.

Farmers, Ranchers & Fishermen

We wholeheartedly endeavor to support local farmers, ranchers and fisheries and incorporate seasonal changes in our menus. Montane Spring Water

We’ve partnered to pour locally-canned Montane Sparkling Spring Water at all of our restaurants. We’re proud to both support a Georgia business (Montane is sourced from pure natural spring water from Blue Springs, a cold, deep quartzite spring in the Pine Mountain ridge of Georgia) and cut back on waste by switching from glass to more readily-recyclable aluminum. Enjoy their delicious bubbly water and feel good while you hydrate.

Giving Kitchen 5 Star Program

As supporters of the Giving Kitchen and its role in Atlanta’s restaurant culture, we’ve proudly signed our restaurants on to their brand new Five-Star Restaurant program. By participating with the Dining with Gratitude fundraiser in late summer and serving up food at the upcoming Sunday Summer at Serenbe, we have committed to giving back to the city’s premier resource for restaurant workers in need of emergency financial assistance. We can’t wait to see what awesome programs they put together next!

We are a proud member of the Southern Foodways Alliance, a member-supported non-profit based at the University of Mississippi’s Center for the Study of Southern Culture. Their mission is to document, study, and celebrate the diverse food cultures of the changing American South via symposia, documentary films, oral histories, scholarships, student mentoring and thought leadership.

Beverage Partnerships

By partnering with premier vintners, distilleries & importers, Fifth Group can provide a better beverage selection than almost anyone else in ATL. We are proud to partner with distilleries like Breckenridge to hand-select bourbon barrels to serve at South City Kitchen and travel to Mexico to work with Herradurra on our own double barrel reposado tequila. We are passionate about wine, beer & liquor, and we hope you can tell next time you stop by the bar.

Hunger Walk

Fifth Group began its corporate support of the Atlanta Community Food Bank’s annual Hunger Walk/Run in 2008 and, in conjunction with the Food Bank, also spearheaded the event’s restaurant program. This program encourages Atlanta’s restaurant community to join the fundraising and awareness efforts by offering an additional ACFB donation line to customer checks during the month leading up to the Hunger Walk/Run. Now featuring dozens of Atlanta’s most popular restaurants, this program has had a notable impact on the total funds raised in recent years.

Completing the Cycle

Ecco composts organics and reaps the benefits: This compost comes back to fertilize the roof-top garden. Vegetables and herbs from this Farmer D Organics-certified raised bed garden can be found in Ecco’s seasonal dishes – talk about full-circle sustainability. La Tavola maintains a patio garden and integrates garden-fresh ingredients onto their seasonal menus, as well.

#StopSucking – No More Plastic Straws

Fifth Group has committed to #StopSucking! It’s been estimated that Americans go through 500 million straws on a daily basis, and we have doubled down on our sustainability initiatives by eliminating plastic straws from our restaurants (and providing biodegradable straws on request.) We’ve also traded in plastic stirrers for bamboo stir sticks, continuing the initiative to fight against the plastic waste that pollutes water and threatens wildlife.
