Where are you from originally?
I’m originally from Denver, Colorado.
How long have you been a part of the FGR family?
I started last October, so a little over a year.
What is your position and what are your responsibilities in this role?
I am the designer associate to Steve Bales, and my responsibilities are all pre-planning, reaching out to vendors, coordinating everything pre-, during and post-event for all the vendors. Steve, my boss, designs the event, and I also help him with design ideas and concepts. Once he writes the proposal, he hands it off to me. I work with the client from there to make adjustments, to actually execute the event. I work with our ops team to produce the event and make sure that everything that we are providing to the client is just 100% exactly what they envision and what they want.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be an astronaut. I have big dreams.
Describe yourself in three words.
Kind, honest, dedicated.
What is the most memorable event you’ve helped bring to life?
It was a giant Indian wedding back in May and probably the biggest event that I’ve worked on to date up at The Hotel at Avalon. It taught me a lot about Indian culture, and it was so much fun to do something a little out of the box. They were willing to let us run with our creative ideas, and we just went all out for that one. I’ll never forget it.
What is your favorite element of design?
The graphic design element. I love producing all of the graphics.
A design trend you love and one to leave behind in 2020?
I love farm tables with sheer linen runners – that kind of rustic, elegant look that people are doing now.
One I’d like to leave behind is hedge walls for sure. Everybody uses them all the time. You can always do so many things with them, but I think that they’re a little tired, and we need to come up with a new alternative.
What’s the first thing you do when an event is over?
Get in bed and go to sleep, but it depends on the event.
If you could design one major event or celebrity wedding, what would it be?
A red carpet event or a red carpet after party event. Celebrity weddings? Emma Watson’s for sure.
If you could eat at one FGR restaurant every day for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?
Ecco. They have so many different meats and cheeses. I just love the charcuterie boards.
What do you like to do on your days off?
Go to Piedmont Park. Go to the Beltline. Hang out with family and friends. Rest. Probably work some more.
What part of town do you live in?
I live in Brookhaven.
What is your favorite holiday and why?
St. Patrick’s Day. It’s also my mom’s birthday. My mom is the best human ever. We always celebrate together, and it’s my fave.
